Polyurethane solutions can outperform traditional rubber bushes

Polybush advocates for durable suspension bushes

Certain suspension bushes in popular cars can repeatedly fail, causing frustration and costing owners time and money. Take, for instance, the MK7 Fiesta rear beam bush and the VAG front wishbone rear bush. Rubber replacements often fall short, leaving customers dissatisfied.

But with Polybush there’s a difference. Why? Because it tackles the issues head-on. Unlike rubber, which succumbs to compression set, oil, fuel, and road grime, Polybush doesn’t. It’s “Impervious,” lasting up to four to five times longer than original bushes.

Here’s what polyurethane bushes offer:

  1. Longevity: Polybush products endure. For Mondeo Mk4’s rear trailing arm bushes or Astra MK6 Rear Beam bushes, they outlast rubber counterparts by a significant margin. We engineer solutions with mechanics in mind, addressing notorious pain points.
  2. Improved Control: Installing polyurethane bushes can make your steering more precise. Customers experience a tighter connection between the steering wheel and the road.
  3. Extended Tyre Life: Polybush reduces tyre wear, installation time, and offers a fit-and-forget solution, saving money.
  4. Comfort: Upgrading to Polyurethane doesn’t compromise comfort. It matches the original hardness of standard cars, ensuring a smooth ride.
  5. Easy Installation: No special tools needed. Remove rubber bushes as usual, and most polyurethane bushes push in by hand. Use a vice or hammer to secure the centre tube.

Two decades ago, the UK’s largest bus manufacturer faced rubber anti-roll bar (ARB) link bush failures. They turned to Polybush.

  • Rubber bushes failed after 5,000 to 15,000 cycles.
  • Polybush’s polyurethane bushes lasted 55,000 cycles.
  • Polyurethane bushes operated 10 to 15°C cooler than rubber during testing.
  • The ride remained unchanged when fitted to the bus.
  • Polybush has supplied these durable bushes for 20 years, replacing all ARB system rubber bushes with polyurethane.

As an OE supplier, Polybush serves various vehicle manufacturers. Polybush makes polyurethane suspension parts for road sweepers, heavy forklift trucks, earth-moving machines, electric vehicles, buses, and tractors.
