Borg & Beck has expanded its product range with the launch of its first Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) clutch kit. The new addition, part number HKDCT1000, is designed for VAG vehicles equipped with 7-speed, direct-shift gearboxes. Popular applications include the Audi A1 Sportback (2018-), Seat Ibiza V (2017-), Skoda Fabia III (2014-), and VW Polo VI (2017-).
This new part number, now available for order, marks Borg & Beck’s initial entry into the DCT market. DCTs offer a blend of manual transmission performance and automatic convenience through the use of two clutches, resulting in improved fuel efficiency, quicker acceleration, and smoother gear changes compared to traditional automatic transmissions. The dual-clutch system allows for rapid and seamless transitions as the next gear is pre-selected.
As part of Borg & Beck’s commitment to providing comprehensive and high-quality repair solutions for technicians, all necessary fitting accessories are included within the kit.
Kelvin Olds, Product Director at First Line Ltd., stated that the introduction of their first DCT clutch kit demonstrates their dedication to delivering innovative solutions that meet the evolving demands of the market. He emphasised that modern transmissions require precision-engineered components and that Borg & Beck’s expansion into DCT clutch kits ensures workshops can rely on them for high-quality, OE-matching solutions.
With extensive experience in clutch systems, Borg & Beck has established a reputation for providing premium-quality clutches with broad coverage across passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. By extending its range to include DCT clutch kits, the brand continues to adapt to modern transmission technology, ensuring workshops have access to the right parts, with the correct fit, at the appropriate time.
