New PDR kit from Power-TEC combines hot glue and slide hammer for dent repair

Hot glue dent repair has become a method for technicians to fix minor dents and creases while preserving original paint finishes. Power-TEC’s new 92727 PDR Hot Glue Dent Pulling Kit integrates the precision of hot-glue pulling with the controlled force of a slide hammer, providing a versatile tool for efficient panel straightening without paint damage.

This PDR method involves adhering specialised glue tabs to the dented surface. Once set, a controlled pulling force is applied, gradually working the metal back to its original shape. This process avoids the need for fillers or repainting, potentially reducing repair times and maintaining the integrity of OEM paint systems.

The core of the 92727 kit is a 500mm carbon-steel slide hammer with a 1.3kg striking weight on a standard M12 × 1.75” thread. Its construction aims to deliver consistent impact force, while the slide hammer action facilitates smooth, controlled pulls suitable for various types of indentations.

The kit includes:

  • Six assorted glue puller pads for different surface profiles.
  • Two straight pad holders (50mm & 125mm) for connecting to the slide hammer.
  • One M12 × 1.75 pad-holder adaptor (also available as part no. 62708) for secure tab attachment.

Designed to work with the Power-TEC Gluematic Glue Gun (91237) and glue sticks (92342), the 92727 kit supports precise PDR repairs on vehicle panels. Any residual glue can be cleaned with Power-TEC Hot Melt Glue Remover (92341), leaving a clean finish.

The kit is available now from Power-TEC suppliers. For more details, please click here or contact their customer service team on 01926 815000 for information on other professional bodyshop tools and stockists.
