Niterra UK begins 50th Anniversary celebrations at Automechanika Birmingham

Niterra UK Ltd commenced its 50th-anniversary celebrations at Automechanika Birmingham today, drawing considerable attention to its Stand E80 in Hall 20.

The event began with a special address from Managing Director Marko Wowczyna, who reflected on the company’s five-decade journey from a modest Hendon warehouse to a significant presence in the UK aftermarket. He stated: “Today is not just a celebration of the history of Niterra UK and our NGK Ignition Parts and NTK Vehicle Electronics brands – but a declaration of intent for our future. We’re proud of our legacy but even more excited for what lies ahead.”

A highlight of the morning was the unveiling of the John Player Special Lotus F1 car, symbolising Niterra’s motorsport heritage. The car immediately became a popular attraction, drawing crowds throughout the day and remaining on display for the duration of the show.

Following the opening ceremony, Marko Wowczyna was joined by IAAF Chief Executive Mark Field for a live Q&A session. Field commended the automotive industry’s evolution and Niterra’s contributions to UK garages and motor factors. He added: “Congratulations to Niterra UK for reaching 50 years in the UK. It truly is a fantastic milestone and success story. The future of the aftermarket will undoubtedly bring change but the commitment and passion in our sector remains constant.”

Day one also featured a special guest appearance by NGK Spark Plugs motorsport ambassador Charlie Martin. Further events are planned, including an appearance by ambassador Max Coates on Thursday, alongside ongoing showcases of NGK and NTK parts and services.

The 50th-anniversary celebrations are set to continue throughout the exhibition.
