ZF Aftermarket’s TRW brand is positioning itself as a leader in the automotive aftermarket, focusing on an extensive product portfolio, digital ecosystem integration, and trusted partner relationships. Under its core message, “Together we are Maximizing Mobility Uptime,” TRW aims to provide high-performance braking solutions to workshops, distributors, and fleets across Europe and beyond.
The TRW range encompasses over 18,000 braking components, offering OE-quality solutions for all passenger vehicle types, including conventional, hybrid, and electric models. The portfolio includes discs, pads, calipers, actuation systems, hydraulic components, and accessories, designed for seamless integration and efficient installation. This is supported by expert training and technical assistance via ZF [pro]Tech.
TRW boasts product coverage for 98% of the European vehicle parc for brake pads, including 100% for the top 20 electric vehicle models in Europe. Coverage extends to 96% for discs and 93% for calipers.
Markus Wittig, Global Head of Business Line Passenger Car at ZF Aftermarket, stated, “TRW empowers our customers to expand the boundaries of their braking capabilities. Through close collaboration with workshops and distributors, we are continually driven to evolve and innovate. Our goal is to Maximize Uptime and serve as a strategic partner in delivering sustained, profitable growth for their businesses.”
A significant portion of TRW braking parts are manufactured in Europe, with 100% of brake pads, calipers, and boosters produced in European facilities. These, along with R&D centres in Germany, Spain, and the Czech Republic, ensure adherence to safety, quality, and durability standards. TRW brake pads feature COTEC coating for reduced stopping distances during bedding-in and DTEC technology to minimise rim dust. TRW brake discs are coated for corrosion protection and manufactured to OE tolerances to reduce vibration.
As an OE partner to over 55 global automotive manufacturers, ZF supplies TRW braking systems for over half of all rear axle systems worldwide. All TRW components undergo end-of-line testing. TRW also supports the EV transition with solutions like the Electric Blue brake pad, designed for electric and hybrid vehicles, and innovations such as the Electric Brake Booster (EBB).
