Leon Hall, a Plymouth entrepreneur, is celebrating a significant step for his car repair business, LA Bodyworks, which will now operate as Fix Auto North Plymouth. Founded in 2013 with an initial £4,000 loan, Hall has grown the company from a single-bay operation to a thriving centre repairing around 20 vehicles weekly.
LA Bodyworks now boasts 20 bays and 9,000 sq ft of workspace, including a dedicated unit for ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) work, alongside additional secure parking. Hall leads a team of eight, including family members, and expresses ambition for further growth.
The rebranding sees the business join Fix Auto UK, the country’s largest network of independently owned car repair centres. This affiliation will enable the team to offer an expanded range of services to Plymouth motorists, while remaining under Hall’s ownership.
Hall commented: “I am extremely proud of what I’ve achieved. From that £4,000 loan and operating out of a single unit… I’ve managed to grow and develop into what we have today. But I am ambitious… and I recognised I need that help and guidance to fulfil those ambitions. Fix Auto UK has a hugely successful CV of helping repairers to take their businesses to that next level and I want to be part of that success.”
Mark Hutchins, Operations Director at Fix Auto UK, welcomed the new addition: “Leon’s journey from launching his business with a modest personal loan to building a highly respected and thriving repair centre is truly inspiring… We’re excited to support his continued growth.”
Fix Auto UK is part of a global network of over 925 bodyshops, performing more than 150,000 body repairs annually for various clients. The addition of Fix Auto North Plymouth increases Fix Auto UK’s fully branded repair centres to 14 across the UK.
