Laser Tools has introduced its Wheel Stud Installer Kit (part number 9185), a 10-piece solution designed to address common issues with worn, damaged, or stretched wheel studs. Wheel studs are subject to stress from frequent wheel removal, exposure to debris, and potential over-torquing, which can compromise their integrity and necessitate replacement for safe wheel installation.
Properly fitted new studs ensure correct wheel fitment, preventing vibration and potential safety hazards. For salvageable studs, the kit includes thread chasers to restore the original thread profile, offering a cost-effective repair option.
The kit provides stud replacement socket sizes including M14 x 2.0mm, M14 x 1.5mm, M12 x 1.5mm, and M12 x 1.25mm, covering a range of vehicle applications. It also comes with two friction reduction washers for smooth installation and four thread chasers for cleaning existing stud threads, allowing for reuse where possible.
Designed for quick and correct installation of new wheel studs without damage, the kit helps reduce downtime and labour costs. It is supplied in a compact EVA foam tray (37 x 140 x 197mm) for easy storage. A maintenance tip advises lubricating threaded parts and chasers with grease before use for optimal performance.
The Laser Tools 9185 Wheel Stud Installer Kit ensures the structural integrity and safety of wheel assemblies by addressing stud wear and damage. For larger thread sizes, the Laser part number 8125 Wheel Stud Service Kit for HGV is available.
The kit is now available from Laser Tools stockists and online retailers. For more information please click here.
