Humanitarian mission successfully delivers vital vehicles to the Ukraine border

LKQ and MP Rachel Taylor deliver ambulances to Ukraine

A fleet of ambulances donated by LKQ UK & Ireland has been successfully delivered to the Poland-Ukraine border, following a four-day humanitarian mission led by volunteers, including North Warwickshire and Bedworth MP Rachel Taylor. The journey, which covered over 1,300 miles, marks the latest effort in LKQ’s ongoing campaign, which has now seen the company deliver over 300 tonnes of supplies to Ukraine since 2022.

The convoy of three ambulances departed from LKQ’s headquarters in Tamworth, located in Rachel Taylor MP’s constituency. She praised the generosity and determination of her constituents and the LKQ team, calling it “an extraordinary experience” to be part of the mission firsthand.

The humanitarian mission was coordinated by Dawid Kozlowski, a Demand Planner at LKQ UK & Ireland, who has been a central figure in the company’s relief efforts. Since the conflict began, Dawid has overseen the delivery of 51 ambulances, significant amounts of medicine, and more than 1,000 individually tailored Christmas gifts to Ukrainian children. His work has been widely recognised, including with a Volunteer Award at the 2023 BBC CWR Make a Difference Awards.

LKQ’s wider community work includes supporting local education and employment initiatives and transitioning its delivery fleet to low-carbon HVO fuel to reduce its environmental impact. The company has reaffirmed its long-term commitment to Ukrainian relief efforts, with plans for further humanitarian missions already in discussion.
