The Blend 2025 speakers to bring insight on mental health, cybersecurity and growth

The Blend, a not-for-profit annual conference for independent garages, has announced its first lineup of speakers for the 2025 event. Taking place on Saturday 18 October at the Eastside Rooms in Birmingham, the conference will provide a wide-ranging programme to help garage owners address key business challenges.

The speaker list includes industry experts and successful garage owners who will cover topics such as:

  • Mental Health: Edward Cockill of Uckfield Motor Services will share his personal experience to promote support within the industry.
  • Business Growth: Dean Lomas will discuss the pressures of business expansion, while Michael Shaikly will explore customer profiling to create a more profitable workplace.
  • Customer Service: Emma Lindley will highlight the qualities of exceptional service advisors and how they can drive growth.
  • Technical and Legal: Prashant Chopra will lead a session on Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS), and Danny Trageskes of The Motor Ombudsman will explain Alternative Dispute Resolution.
  • Cybersecurity: Laurence Abbott will provide practical tips for protecting businesses from digital threats.
  • Exit Planning: Jay Wheatley will offer advice on preparing a business for sale.

The event will also feature a panel discussion titled “Partners, Family & Business: The Balancing Act,” with several garage owners discussing how they manage family commitments alongside running a business.

Event director Ray Dilsons stated that the lineup offers practical advice to help attendees strengthen their businesses for the future. Tickets for The Blend 2025, which includes the conference and evening event, are priced at £150 plus VAT and can be purchased online by clicking here.

Any surplus proceeds from the event will be donated to the automotive charity Ben.
