After 24 years, John Coombes will step down from his full-time role, with Cade Galvin appointed as his successor

AAG UK CFO John Coombes to retire

Alliance Automotive Group (AAG) UK and Ireland has announced that Chief Financial Officer (CFO) John Coombes will retire from his full-time position at the end of the year. Coombes joined AAG in January 2001 and has served as CFO for the UK and Ireland for 24 years. He has also been the Group Treasurer for Alliance Automotive Group Europe.

During his tenure, Coombes was a key member of the leadership team and played a significant role in AAG’s growth, including the completion of over 100 acquisitions.

Steve Richardson, Managing Director at Alliance Automotive Group UK and Ireland, expressed his thanks: “I would like to express my deepest gratitude to John for his dedicated service. His efforts have undoubtedly supported the execution of our strategic goals, building a solid foundation for the continued growth of the business.” Richardson also confirmed that Coombes will continue to work on a part-time basis on finance-related projects for the group.

As part of the transition, Cade Galvin will join the UK Executive Committee and assume the role of UK and Ireland CFO, effective 1 November. Galvin joined AAG in 2015 and brings considerable experience to his new position. The leadership team has expressed full confidence in his ability to contribute to the group’s ongoing success.
