The Independent Garage Association (IGA) has announced that the 2025 British Independent Garage of the Year Awards (BIG Awards) was its most successful event yet. Held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on Friday, 12 September, the ceremony welcomed more than 500 attendees, making it the largest audience in the event’s history.
Hosted by comedian and impressionist Jon Culshaw, the evening brought together industry stakeholders and suppliers to celebrate excellence within the sector. The awards recognised businesses and individuals for their innovation, customer service, technical skill, and community impact. The DVSA was a key sponsor, supporting the Consumer Choice Award, which highlights the industry’s role in road safety and customer trust.
Stuart James, CEO of the Independent Garage Association, commented: “This year’s BIG Awards has been our most successful event to date, a sold-out room of over 500 people, a showcase of incredible talent, and a powerful reminder of the strength and unity within our sector.” He added that the winners and finalists are “raising the bar for excellence.”
The IGA extended its thanks to the garages, sponsors, and attendees who made the event possible. The sold-out venue and momentous announcements solidified the BIG Awards as a flagship event in the independent garage calendar.
