Motorpoint has announced a partnership with LKQ Euro Car Parts to modernise its workshop network. The company’s newly upgraded flagship site in Derby marks the halfway point of the project, which aims to improve in-house workshop capabilities across its 21 stores and two preparation centres.
This collaboration is part of a long-standing partnership, with LKQ Euro Car Parts serving as Motorpoint’s primary supplier and exclusive training provider. LKQ Academy has developed a bespoke training course for Motorpoint technicians, and the partnership helped introduce MOT servicing capabilities. Supported by a £1.5m investment, the new strategy has enabled the business to MOT over 6,000 vehicles in its first year.
Twelve other Motorpoint workshops have already been upgraded with new equipment, including EV-capable lift machinery and ADAS diagnostic equipment, all supplied by LKQ Euro Car Parts’ workshop solutions team. The modernisation programme is expected to be completed in early 2026.
Mike Bell, head of workshop solutions and sales at LKQ UK and Ireland, said: “What we’ve achieved with Motorpoint is a tangible example of what we can deliver beyond just car parts. Our partnership is built on a shared commitment to best-in-class service – which means having the tools and equipment to complete every job on every vehicle to the highest standard.”
Curtis Ainsworth, Head of Vehicle Preparation at Motorpoint, added: “We chose to partner with LKQ because they understand the scale of our ambition and share our commitment to quality, innovation, and efficiency.”
