In the summer thermostats have to work much harder to ensure the engine doesn’t overheat, but Febi has warned that this often leads to excessive wear or failure of the parts.
Thermostats are vital to the cooling and heating system in vehicles and any fault can significantly reduce driver comfort.
In a press release, Febi said: “If the thermostat is not correctly sensing the air temperature, the heating is not switched on or off when needed which can cause overheating in the engine.
“A high quality thermostat helps to reduce engine wear and emissions.”
