Emergency services were called to the junction of King Street and Wharf Street in Dukinfield, Tameside, shortly after 5:30 pm on Saturday (April 26th) following reports of a road traffic collision. The incident involved a car colliding with a National Tyres garage located at the corner of the two streets.
Residents in the area reported hearing a “loud bang” around 5:45 pm prior to the incident. The collision resulted in a large hole in the wall of the garage building.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP), paramedics, and fire crews all attended the scene, and the junction was cordoned off while the incident was managed.
GMP confirmed that no injuries were sustained as a result of the collision. Firefighters from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) worked to make the vehicle and the surrounding area safe before handing over the scene to the police.
A spokesperson for GMFRS stated that one fire engine from Stalybridge Community Fire Station and the Technical Rescue Unit from Ashton attended the incident.
