The Banner GB team in Staffordshire recently hosted Andreas Bawart, CEO of family-owned Banner – The Power Company, as the final stop on his international farewell tour ahead of his retirement.
After more than thirty years of dedicated leadership alongside his cousin Thomas Bawart, Andreas will be stepping back from day-to-day operations. Both cousins will remain actively connected to the company as ongoing shareholders and owners, continuing their family legacy.
During his visit to Banner’s UK head office and warehouse, Andreas was welcomed by the GB team with a traditional dinner at a local English pub. Country Manager Lee Quinney presented him with a silver hip flask engraved with a personal retirement message from the team.
The farewell continued in London with a visit to the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground. Andreas, joined by Richard Shortis, Managing Director of The Shortis Group, enjoyed a T20 Vitality Blast match between Middlesex and the Kent Spitfires. Richard Shortis also presented Andreas with Lord’s memorabilia as a memento of his visit.
Reflecting on the occasion, Lee Quinney commented: “Over the last ten years of my stewardship of Banner in the UK, Andreas has been a constant source of support to both the team and our business development journey. His leadership legacy, spanning over three decades, has shaped Banner into the company it is today. On behalf of the entire GB team and everyone associated with Banner, we wish Andreas a long, healthy, and fulfilling retirement.”
