Delphi has unveiled its significantly expanded training centre in Warwick, following a £500,000 investment. This expansion now makes it one of the largest automotive training facilities in Europe.
The new wing focuses specifically on training for hybrid, electric vehicle (EV), and hydrogen technologies, reflecting the growing demand for technicians skilled in these areas.
The state-of-the-art centre boasts features like an open-plan workshop, interactive classrooms, and a dedicated product showroom. Technicians will have access to a wide range of training aids, including a variety of electric and hybrid vehicles, and an industry-first hydrogen internal combustion powertrain rig.
Neil Fryer, Vice President and Global Aftermarket General Manager at PHINIA, the company behind the Delphi brand, commented on the Academy’s role in supporting the aftermarket: “Our strong relationships with vehicle manufacturers allow us to bring original equipment (OE) knowledge directly to the aftermarket. Technicians need the right parts, information, and training to carry out effective repairs, and that’s what we’re delivering here.”
The expansion also includes a new online booking system, allowing technicians and workshop managers to easily book training and monitor progress.
This investment underlines Delphi’s commitment to supporting the aftermarket industry by ensuring technicians have the skills needed to thrive in the rapidly changing automotive landscape.
