To address the growing number of Tesla vehicles on UK roads, Delphi Academy has launched a new “Tesla Service and Maintenance” course. This first-of-its-kind program equips mechanics with the skills and knowledge necessary to confidently service these electric cars.
With a significant portion of the UK’s electric vehicle market being Teslas, Delphi stress the importance for workshops to adapt. “There are 85,000 additional Teslas entering the aftermarket within the next two years,” said Luke Garratt, UK Technical Services Manager at Delphi. “As these cars begin to arrive in independent garages, it’s crucial for technicians to understand the unique Tesla service and maintenance needs.
“We’ve developed this new course to provide the practical knowledge and hands-on experience necessary to confidently work on Teslas.”
The course offers hands-on training in various aspects of Tesla maintenance, including accessing technical documents, operating service mode, performing tasks like air conditioning and battery services, and handling brake repairs, tyre replacements, and wheel alignments. Additionally, it covers advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) calibration specific to Teslas.
This initiative aligns with Delphi’s commitment to supporting workshops with the latest knowhow. Their trainers, experienced technicians themselves, guarantee the course reflects real-world situations and diagnostic techniques.
A recent investment has doubled the size of the Delphi Academy in Warwick, with dedicated training facilities for hybrid and electric vehicles reflecting this commitment.
The next “Tesla Service and Maintenance” course takes place on 10 November at Delphi Academy. For more information, contact [email protected] or click here for the full list of in-person Delphi Academy technical training.
