DENSO recently hosted its annual Golf Day for key customers and invited guests from across the UK and Ireland. The event took place on the PGA National Course at The Belfry in the West Midlands, featuring both individual and team competitions. Prizes were awarded for categories such as ‘nearest the pin in two shots’ and ‘longest drive’.
Nigel Cole, a long-standing DENSO stalwart, hosted the day. Kevin Peacocke, DENSO’s UK and Eire Sales Manager, explained that the golf day allows them to spend time with and show appreciation for their customers. He noted that combining on-course competition with an evening of relaxation, which included a James Bond theme, made the event particularly enjoyable. The evening also served as the occasion for announcing winners and distributing prizes.
This year’s winners for the four-ball competition were Dave Burgess (DB Autoconsultancy), Mark Blighton (MJB Motor Service), and Ronnie Cross (DENSO). Dave Burgess also secured the individual title, with Paul Westwood (Autoparts UK Dundee) as the runner-up. Each received a £100 Belfry Pro-Shop voucher. Supplementary winners included Nick Finch (FPS) and Tristan Seal (APD) for ‘nearest the pin’, with Nick Finch also winning ‘longest drive’, and Chris Heaton (Merlin Diesel) receiving an award for the ‘most enthusiastic drive’.
Peacocke thanked all attendees and the DENSO team for making the event a success, expressing anticipation for next year’s gathering.
