Ecobat Battery has launched a new NCC verified battery brochure to assist leisure battery customers and the wider leisure community. This informative guide details all the verified batteries Ecobat offers, providing solutions for various leisure power requirements.
The brochure begins by summarising the National Caravan Council (NCC) Verified Leisure Battery Scheme. This scheme helps enthusiasts identify batteries with accurate, verified specifications, ensuring confidence in their suitability and advertised performance. The guide then distinguishes between the three NCC categories: Class A, Class B, and Class C.
For Class A applications, typically used frequently without an electrical hook-up and delivering a minimum of 350 cycles, the brochure lists five brands: Exide, Lucas, Numax, Odyssey, and Rolls. It highlights six new references introduced for the 2025 season within this demanding category.
Class B covers high-consumption conditions, such as those involving a motor mover, generally used with an electrical hook-up and providing a minimum of 200 cycles. Multiple options from Exide, Lucas, and Numax are available in this class.
Under Class C, for low power consumption situations usually with an electrical hook-up and a minimum of 70 cycles, options from Exide, Lucas, and Numax are presented. Notably, Odyssey batteries, with two new references in this category, utilise thin plate pure lead technology. Despite their Class C rating, their 63 and 85 Ah versions deliver up to 900 cycles, making them the longest-lasting C-rated batteries.
The brochure concludes with a section on the essential care and maintenance of leisure batteries, including the importance of regular charging. High-quality chargers from brands like CTEK, Victron, and Numax are also featured, offering a range of options. The helpful resource is available online and can be downloaded here.
