First Line Ltd. is anticipating a surge in demand for its Borg & Beck classic product range as the classic car season gains momentum. The company is encouraging motor factors and workshops to ensure they are well-stocked for what is expected to be a busy summer of servicing and restoration for heritage vehicles.
Kelvin Olds, Product Director at First Line Ltd., explained that summer typically brings increased demand for classic vehicle maintenance. He stated: “Workshops need trusted components that install without issue, and motor factors need to know those parts are available when required. That’s exactly what Borg & Beck delivers, heritage fitment backed by modern engineering, with coverage across more than 65 product ranges.”
The Borg & Beck brand, established in 1903, offers components designed to meet or exceed OE specifications across various product categories, including clutches, braking systems, suspension, filtration, and cooling. The range supports iconic UK marques such as Jaguar, Triumph, Austin-Healey, Lotus, and Land Rover, as well as newer classics like the BMW E30 and Mazda MX-5.
Borg & Beck parts are engineered for real-world use. Their clutch kits, for example, undergo testing at First Line’s in-house technical clutch centre to rigorous OE standards. The company notes that common driving habits, such as keeping the clutch pedal depressed while stationary, can accelerate wear on carbon bearings. To address this, Borg & Beck offers classic clutch kits with more durable ball race bearings for various models, including classic Jaguar E-Type, Mk II, and XK models (1950-1970) (HK5229HD), MGB and MGB GT (1962-69) (HK9679), MGC (1967-69) (HK9636HD), and Austin Healey 3000, Jaguar E-Type, Mk II, Mk X, S-Type and XK (HK9702HD). Kits with original carbon bearings are also available.
The brand’s commitment to engineering precision aims to ensure components mirror original dimensions and durability, which is important for workshops. Motor factors benefit from First Line’s stockholding and customer support, along with detailed cataloguing and technical support.
