Laser Tools has introduced a Bi-Directional Pneumatic Air/Slide Hammer (part number 9210), a new workshop tool that uses air power to provide controlled, high-force extraction and insertion. The tool is designed to replace traditional manual slide hammers, which rely on repeated blunt force that can cause physical shock and operator fatigue.
The 9210 uses an air-driven action to automatically drive the hammer weight in either the pull or push direction, delivering consistent impact. The company states that this method dramatically reduces hand-arm vibration and fatigue for the user.
Key features of the new tool include:
- Bi-directional action: It can be used for both extraction and installation of components.
- Reduced operator strain: The pneumatic drive removes the need for manual slamming, leading to safer and longer shifts.
- High force: The tool delivers an impact equivalent to 4,000 kg of force at 1,300 BPM in both pull and hammer modes, making it suitable for seized or corroded assemblies.
- Adaptability: It comes with multiple thread adaptors and an air chisel adaptor, making it suitable for a variety of workshop applications.
Laser Tools states that the tool provides “controlled, repeatable force” without the “repeated blows and bruising of a conventional slide hammer,” making it a real upgrade for busy workshops and mobile technicians.
The Laser 9210 is available now from Laser Tools stockists and online retailers.
