Motul has marked another successful Le Mans 24 Hours with two category victories for its lubricated partner teams. For the second year running, vehicles using Motul products triumphed in both the LMP2 and LMGT3 classes.
In the LMP2 category, the #43 Inter Europol Oreca 07, piloted by Jakub Smiechowski, Tom Dillman, and Nick Yelloly, secured the win. This marks a step up for Inter Europol Racing, who finished as runners-up in 2024. Meanwhile, in the highly competitive LMGT3 category, the #92 Manthey Porsche 911 GT3 R, driven by Ryan Hardwick, Riccardo Pera, and Richard Lietz, took top honours, marking Manthey’s second consecutive victory at Le Mans.
Both winning teams utilised Motul’s 300V engine oil, a fully synthetic lubricant launched in 1971. Named after the brand’s 300 race victories, 300V has since been refined into four variants, including a “Le Mans” version designed for maximum reliability in endurance racing.
A significant announcement at Le Mans confirmed that Gibson will continue as the sole engine provider for the next generation of LMP2 cars. This means that Motul 300V will remain the factory-fill oil for all LMP2 vehicles, aligning with Motul’s long-standing technology partnership with Gibson.
Andy Wait, Motul UK and Ireland Head of Business, praised the event’s competitiveness: “The whole of the 24 Hours is run seemingly flat-out and is so incredibly competitive. Huge congratulations to all the Motul entries that finished, and particularly, of course, to all our teams who won or made the podium. It’s another amazing chapter in Motul’s competition history and a superb endorsement of our products – and those who use them.”
