Motul, a global fluids company, is participating in the 70th anniversary celebrations of Motor Cycle News (MCN), the UK’s weekly motorcycle publication. MCN, which began in 1955 as a newspaper, has since evolved into a multimedia platform encompassing news, sales, and insurance services.
Motul is the presenting partner for “Bikes of the Era,” a seven-part series featured in both print and as YouTube videos. Each segment showcases MCN staff’s choice for the motorcycle that best represents each decade of the publication’s history. Motul branding is visible across both print and video versions, and the company’s products are referenced in each video, often drawing on Motul’s own history of innovation.
Jason Davies, Motul UK and Ireland, commented: “We were honoured to have been approached to be involved in the MCN 70th Birthday activities and delighted to be able to be part of it. They are a great series of articles and videos and, if the first is anything to go by, should provide a great deal of entertainment.”
The first decade (1955-1964) features the Triumph T120 Bonneville, a motorcycle named for its claimed top speed of 120 MPH. Videos and articles for the remaining six bikes from MCN’s history will be released in the coming weeks, culminating in a special MCN supplement celebrating the 70th anniversary and reviewing all the featured motorcycles.
