TRW offers comprehensive braking solutions for the modern automotive aftermarket

ZF Aftermarket, through its TRW braking brand, offers comprehensive solutions for workshops, distributors, and fleets. Their strategy focuses on an extensive product portfolio, digital integration, and strong partnerships, aiming to maximise mobility uptime.

The TRW range includes over 18,000 OE-quality braking components for all passenger vehicle types, from conventional to hybrid and electric, encompassing discs, pads, and calipers. These parts are designed for efficient installation and supported by training via ZF [pro]Tech. TRW boasts significant European vehicle parc coverage: 98% for brake pads (including 100% for top 20 European EV models), 96% for discs, and 93% for calipers.

Markus Wittig, Global Head of Business Line Passenger Car at ZF Aftermarket, stated TRW aims to empower customers through innovation for profitable growth.

TRW braking parts benefit from a strong European manufacturing focus, with all brake pads, calipers, and boosters produced in European facilities. These sites, coupled with R&D centres, ensure high standards. For example, TRW brake pads feature COTEC coating for shorter stopping distances and DTEC technology to reduce rim dust. Discs are coated for corrosion protection and manufactured to precise OE tolerances.

As an OE partner, ZF supplies TRW braking systems globally. All TRW components undergo in-house end-of-line testing. TRW also supports sustainable production and electric mobility with solutions like the Electric Blue brake pad, engineered specifically for EVs.

For distributors, TRW offers a high-demand portfolio. For workshops, high-performance parts simplify installation. For fleets, TRW systems enhance operational safety.

Wittig noted over 600 new TRW braking products were introduced in 2024, aiming to give customers confidence in any repair job. TRW’s history includes advancements like the Colette brake caliper and 4-wheel ABS, now extending to innovations for autonomous vehicles. Wittig concluded TRW “delivers a premium braking universe” to help customers thrive in an evolving market.
