Motorvate inspires next generation at Automechanika Birmingham 2025

Motorvate, the interactive careers and skills hub launched at Automechanika Birmingham 2025, has been praised as a significant success. Held from 3 – 5 June at the NEC Birmingham, Motorvate attracted thousands of students, apprentices, garage and bodyshop owners, and educators, creating a festival-like atmosphere focused on skills development and engagement.

The hub featured various hands-on activities, including electric vehicle challenges, simulator races, technical fault-finding, and live demonstrations. Visitors left with increased confidence and a clearer understanding of career opportunities within the automotive aftermarket.

The Ignite Arena served as a central point, hosting discussions and talks with industry leaders and influencers from organisations such as Bosch Training Solutions, Autotech Academy, Kwik Fit, Castrol, and LKQ UK & Ireland. Highlights included motorsport Q&As and sessions with industry figures like Edd China and NAPA Racing UK driver Dan Rowbottom.

Motorvate also hosted two notable industry events. On 3rd June, the Thirty Under 30 Awards celebrated rising young talent from across the aftermarket. The following day, 4th June, saw the Armed Forces Covenant Signing Ceremony, in partnership with Mission Community, where businesses pledged support for veterans seeking automotive careers.

Joanne Knowles, Event Director at Messe Frankfurt UK, commented: “This year’s Automechanika Birmingham has been our strongest yet, not only in numbers, but in energy, ambition and impact.” She added that the industry has chosen Automechanika as the place to unite and shape its future.

Motorvate has been widely recognised for its role in bridging the gap between education and employment, showcasing career paths in diagnostics, engineering, marketing, and technical roles. Due to its positive reception from employers, training providers, and attendees, Motorvate is now established as a flagship feature for future Automechanika Birmingham events.
