Denbury Diesels, a family-run car dealership in Newton Abbot, Devon, is set to close its doors after 54 years in business. Owners Mike and Tracey Perrman have announced their retirement and are holding a closing-down sale to sell their remaining stock.
The dealership, which has been a fixture in the local community since its establishment, announced the news on social media. In a Facebook post, the owners thanked their “lovely” customers and stated that the time had come to step away from the industry.
The business is now selling its final vehicles, offering a two-year free warranty with every car sold. All remaining stock must be gone by the end of August.
Denbury Diesels was known for offering a range of services beyond vehicle sales, including servicing, repairs, MOTs, and diagnostics for all makes of cars, light commercial vehicles, motor homes, and minibuses. The site also featured a 12-bay workshop facility and a paint and body shop.
Customers have taken to social media to express their sadness at the news and to wish the couple a happy retirement. One person wrote, “Happy retirement Perrymans, thank you for looking after me and the Dodd boys so well and keeping us on the road.”
