A Sheffield-based Porsche driver, Andy Sharp, is seeking to return his £90,000 electric Taycan, claiming the vehicle has spent extended periods in the garage for repairs since he acquired it. Mr Sharp, who holds a business lease on the car, states the vehicle frequently becomes unresponsive after being left for some time, necessitating recovery by the AA.
Mr Sharp, 50, alleges he has been left with an unresponsive vehicle on ten separate occasions. Most of these incidents occurred at his business, English Pewter in Grimesthorpe, though one instance left him stranded at Sainsbury’s.
He claims his Porsche Taycan has cumulatively spent eight months and three weeks undergoing repairs at Porsche Sheffield on Sheffield Road, Meadowhall, with the longest continuous period being four months.
On one occasion, he states the car remained at the garage for six weeks before any work commenced due to mechanics being “busy.” Paperwork reviewed for some repairs indicates the car was at the garage for a 15-week period.
Mr Sharp commented: “I always wanted a Porsche. But this is the best and worst car I have ever had. I don’t think they know what the problem is themselves.”
