Ok so those that follow ‘peterstopcrime’ on tw@tter will know he is on the ball.

Going the other way, have seen this happen before where
Mummy and daddy buy Tarquin a ‘run around’ spanking new
Audi a5 for his 18th birthday.

Naturally he’s doing donuts in Sainsburys carpark in the ice
(Only toff’s go to Tesco) he is there for two hours, even on the redline in reverse, he drives off normal Sensible speed and whack he smacks
The kerb on the way out, takes wishbone out and pops driveshaft out the gear box.

He has had it 6 months so mummy and daddy decide the car is now too okd, so buy him another. Does that car required ‘write off status’?

Err no, new wishbone refill gearbox safe as before!

It doesnt help when sites like this getting the meaning of catagories wrong either “Category N mean the vehicle has non-structural faults, such as faulty brakes, steering or other safety-related parts.”
No it doesnt! Cat N is superficial. Government state – “N Can be repaired following non-structural damage You can use the vehicle again if it’s repaired to a roadworthy condition”
My car was damaged by an ape with a metal bar which left a few 10p sized dents, now hardly noticable a year later. Insurance deemed it Cat N. gave me back the money I paid for it and it now car stands me in next to nothing. Luvvly Jubbly
