The UK Garage and Bodyshop Event (5/6 June at the NEC, Birmingham) has announced its “SHOW MAKER” initiative as part of its commitment to fostering the next generation of automotive professionals. The initiative is a collaboration with the School of Thought’s ambassador program.
Ten eager work experience students, or “SHOW MAKERS,” from Sandwell College will be participating in various tasks throughout the event. This will provide them with invaluable exposure to the industry’s leading players and hands-on experience. Industry professionals are encouraged to interact with the students, offering guidance and inspiring them to pursue careers in the automotive field.
“SHOW MAKERS” will receive certificates acknowledging their participation, a valuable addition to their CVs. The students are Nicholas Bosompim, Ryan Bradshaw, Ebrima Ceesay, Mustafa Chowdhury, Connor Day, Marwan Hussein, Stephen Odiase, Callum Riley, Jasvir Singh, and Sahil Pal.
“We are grateful to Sandwell College and School of Thought for this opportunity,” said Alex Jones, Marketing Director of the UK Garage and Bodyshop Event. “The ‘SHOW MAKER’ initiative is a fantastic way for these young minds to gain real-world experience in our industry.”
“Bringing fresh talent into the automotive sector is essential to address the skills gap,” said Dave Reece, founder of School of Thought. “Programs like ‘SHOW MAKER’ provide students with practical experience and inspire them towards careers in this field. By supporting these young individuals, we’re investing in both their future and the future of the industry.”
Easily identifiable in their “SHOW MAKER” t-shirts, the students are encouraged to interact with attendees for support throughout their learning journey.
The UK Garage and Bodyshop Event’s commitment to nurturing talent is evident through initiatives like “SHOW MAKER,” solidifying their role in shaping the future of the automotive industry.
