KwikFit experienced a computer system outage on Tuesday, 8 October, affecting millions of customers across the UK. The outage is believed to have impacted most of the brand’s 600+ stores.
A local KwikFit branch confirmed the issue, stating it was a “national problem” caused by a system update. Customers could not book new appointments, and staff could not manage existing bookings.
KwikFit’s head office confirmed that the issue had been resolved within a few hours. The spokesperson stated that a system update related to Postcodes caused a problem with the primary booking process. However, many centres were able to switch to a backup system, minimising disruption.
KwikFit operates over 600 outlets across the UK, offering a range of services including tyre fitting, general servicing, MOT tests, and replacement parts. The outage temporarily affected these services for customers.
