Comline breaks new ground with impressive caliper offering

Comline’s range of brake pads and discs have long been the staple of factors and technicians, but in recent years it’s calipers that have captured the market’s imagination.

The clamour for calipers

Since launching in 2020, Comline calipers have proven a real success story. The brand offers a range of over 1,000 references and deliver thousands of units per month to customers across the UK.

Comline business line general manager, Nick Weir, picks up the story: “From a standing start three years ago, Comline calipers have become one of our best-selling product ranges.

”The response from the market was exciting and immediate, our caliper sales grew quickly in the first year, and this momentum has continued to build. Fast forward to the close of 2022, and our caliper volumes grew a further 350 percent”

This impressive entrance into the market and the ongoing success of Comline calipers is down to a combination of factors that starts with the product itself. Comline only supplies all-new caliper units which ensure consistent, reliable performance and remove the additional hassle that is often associated with remanufactured caliper options.

Nick commented: “One of the major downsides for customers in dealing with remanufactured calipers is the need to return the product and process surcharge claims. This can be a time-consuming and often painful process that customers can really do without; Comline calipers have been widely embraced as a solution to this problem.”

The breadth of the Comline caliper range also impresses and within the aforementioned 1,000 product references, all popular makes and models are catered for. Whether a European, Japanese or Korean vehicle, if it’s popular in the UK, then Comline has a caliper reference to cover it.

The range also incorporates sliding, fixed, and rear calipers, with rear options including both manual handbrake and more contemporary Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) options. The latter is growing increasingly prevalent in newer vehicle designs and the brand’s most popular caliper reference, CBC309L/R, is in fact an EPB option fitting an extensive range of VAG Group vehicles.

Add to this a simple, concise part numbering system, a confidence-inspiring two-year (40,000km) warranty, and the competitive edge for which Comline is synonymous, and it is easy to see why the brand’s range of calipers has truly hit the mark across the UK.

Experts in braking

While Comline calipers currently steal the headlines, the brand is also quick to point out the ongoing strength of its wider braking range – pads and discs are an integral part of Comline’s DNA.

When it comes to brake pads it’s not just the brand’s distinctive blue and yellow livery that stands it out from the crowd. Comline pads are tested to ensure compliance with ECE R90 regulations, but the brand goes further with a range of more extensive quality and performance checks.

Going the extra mile by insisting on the likes of a 300°C hot shear test, underpins the Comline performance standard and delivers trust-inspiring performance to motor factors, technicians, and motorists.

Comline brake discs are also stringently tested to deliver outstanding stopping power, and there are some noteworthy additional benefits to consider. Most discs on offer from Comline are so-called ‘coated’ options which feature a specialised anti-corrosion coating that is applied to all areas of the disc. This feature not only ensures long-lasting, premium aesthetics in-behind the alloy wheel, but also means the technician can take the disc from box-to-axle without the need for cleaning or degreasing.

This time-saving feature is detailed in Comline’s new video:
