Paul Smith’s Rover 2000 is one of the best-known Rover P6s in the country, appearing in magazines, books and at classic car events.
But a little-known fact is that Paul has taken it to the same garage for an MOT for 40 consecutive years.
The garage in question is Orchard Garage Ltd in Dartford, Kent.
Paul Smith told KentOnline: “Since the age of 18 I have owned Rover cars. I take them apart and do the mechanical work needed to put them back together and I get a garage to weld and paint and restore them to new.”
As a car registered in 1963, Paul’s Rover is exempt from the MOT test, but like countless over classic car owners, he does the sensible thing by getting it tested by a qualified and independent expert.
