Lucas Oil driver confirmed as double champion

Tony Lynch and the Lucas Oil-sponsored Landsall Tyres Team Geriatric has secured its second major rally title of the 2022 motorsport season.

Lynch was confirmed the overall 2022 Retro Rallycross Championship title winner after the cancellation of the planned season finale, at the Lydden Hill Circuit, Kent.

He had already secured the 2022 Retro Class title.

“Tony has had an incredibly successful year, which is just reward for his racing skills and the mechanical prowess of his support staff.

“The two titles reflect some incredible results, thanks to the car’s reliability and consistent driving performances from Tony all season,” says Lucas Oil’s sales and operations director Dan Morgan.

The Toyota MR2 car runs on Lucas Oil’s 20w50 oil, which has been reinforced with the Heavy Duty Engine Oil Stabilizer additive.

The additive is needed because of the extreme racing conditions.

It gives the engine extra protection throughout the season, reduces wear and maintenance, while providing added consistency of performance around the circuit.

Lubrication for the gearbox is provided by Lucas Oil’s 75×90 synthetic oil.

The team has also been using a range of other products from the Lucas Oil range to boost vehicle performance, reduce maintenance costs and ensure consistency of performance.

These products include Brake Cleaner, to help with wheel maintenance and Slick Mist, a polish that delivers a dealership’s forecourt shine and helps to raise the trackside profile of the car.

The new Champion has a winning pedigree.

Tony was National MDA Champion in both 2005 and 2006 and is also a two-time MSA Stockhatch champion Other titles include BMW MINI Rallycross champion Super Modified Champion in the over 2101cc category of the BTRDA Series.

He added: “These [wins] wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the various sponsors who have backed us this year, and of course, without the hard work of my team behind the scenes to continually improve the car and get it into a position where we could consistently push for wins.”
