Our Virtual Academy launches new EV ‘hazard management’ training course

Training provider, Our Virtual Academy (OVA) has announced the launch of a new training course offering guidance on how to work around high voltage vehicles in a range of different situations.

The training consists of 54 chapters including sections covering dynamic risk assessments, incidents whilst high-voltage vehicles are on charge, when water and high-voltage mix, immobilising high-voltage vehicles, fire and high-voltage vehicles, recovering high-voltage vehicles, and a great deal more.

An OVA spokesperson said: “This course looks at the topic from a completely different perspective – there’s a great deal of content in this course that you’ve probably never seen before.

“We believe it’s essential viewing for all: It’s designed for roadside recovery & emergency services personnel, but also contains invaluable extra knowledge for technicians too.

“We believe virtually everyone in the motor industry will gain meaningful knowledge from this course.

“Whether you’re a roadside recovery operator, a vehicle storage agent, a member of the emergency services, or a technician working alongside electric vehicles, this course is for you.”

Over two and a half years in the making, the new course is designed to give technicians the knowledge needed to make informed judgements when managing risk associated with incidents involving the new technologies in hybrid and electric vehicles.

Delegates will have four choices of certification including a highly sought-after OVA Certificate, an IMI Professional Development Certificate, an IMI TechSafe CPD, or an IMI L2 Award.
