The internal radial sealing mechanism of the above filter elements and housing centre tubes differ slightly from traditional OE cartridge oil filter designs.
These housings feature bevel-less centre tubes that require a simple, angled technique to aid the mounting of the oil filter elements.
In order to ensure the correct sealing of both elements, MANN-FILTER say that it is important to follow the correct mounting instructions.
Firstly, technicians should lubricate the inner (radial) seal of the element and offer the element to the tip of the centre tube at a slight angle.
Next, rotate the element, gradually sliding the entire lip of the centre tube inside the radial seal of the element.
Finally, continue to rotate and to push the element until it stops at the surface of the housing cover, creating an effective seal
at both ends of the element.
