North Shropshire MP Helen Morgan has advocated for High Street rate reform in the House of Commons, following a visit to KC Garages in Oswestry.
The garage is facing challenges such as a shortage of mechanics and high business rates. Morgan and mechanic Niall Jones discussed the difficulties of running a small or medium-sized business, particularly in light of high energy bills and the challenge of recruiting skilled workers in a rural county like north Shropshire.
Morgan has previously discussed business rate reform with ministers and has raised the issue again in the Commons chamber. She asked the Minister to consider a fundamental reform of business rates to support businesses that need a High Street presence
