Vehicle repairs and MOTs have been dubbed as the most-hated aspect of owning a vehicle, according to research.
The findings reveal that almost half (47 per cent) of drivers claim their number one bugbear is putting a car through the MOT test, while one in three (32 per cent) said repairs are their biggest gripe.
The figures have been published by MyCarNeedsA.com as it bids to tackle the issues most hated by drivers across the country.
The research also found that 49 per cent of drivers will only use a garage or workshop if it’s been recommended by a friend.
When it comes to choosing a garage for repair, cost (72 per cent), a recommendation (50 per cent) and location (44 per cent) are the three most important factors.
“No surprise”
Scott Hamilton, MyCarNeedsA.com managing director, said: “As a motorist myself, it’s no surprise that MOTs, repairs and maintenance are the country’s biggest irritants when it comes to owning a car.
“These annoyances are the core reasons why MyCarNeedsA.com exists – to make the life of drivers easier.
“Our technology offers to take the hassle out of motoring by offering drivers a one-stop shop for all their car maintenance needs and we’re on a mission to help car owners enjoy driving that little bit more.”
MyCarNeedsA.com finds garages in a driver’s local area, specific to the work needed on the car.
Garage approval programme
The garages, chosen through a rigorous approval programme, provide bespoke quotes for car aftercare and the driver simply selects a quote based on price, location or rating.
To bring the service to more motorists than ever before, Scott and his team recently launched a crowdfunding campaign with the aim of securing £900,000.
Just a few days after going live, more than £740,000 had already been raised by nearly 200 investors and the campaign shows no sign of slowing.
Shares are available today in MyCarNeedsA.com from just £20.
