Turboville Garage in South Wales has been completely destroyed by fire.
The upstairs viewing area of the garage, which has three vehicle bays, collapsed during the incident, and fire officers prepared to evacuate a number of neighbouring properties.
Fire crews were called to the workshop in Maesteg shortly before 5pm on Friday evening.
One local resident said: “We were really worried about our homes and possessions.
“We could have lost everything.
“I’m so glad no-one was injured, but he has lost his business.”
Both Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service took part in the operation to bring the fire under control.
Nobody has been reported as injured during the incident.
Natural Resources Wales were also due to attend the incident, as were Western Power Distribution.
