Banner never likes to miss out on the opportunity to celebrate, particularly when it comes to customer milestones, and this certainly was the case with Stevenage-based Wheels Motor Factors recently.

With the GROUPAUTO and AAG member having fallen foul of being able to mark their 30th anniversary this time last year due to the Covid pandemic lockdown, Banner’s BDM for the account, Russell Shea, was adamant the event wouldn’t be overlooked. So twelve months on he made a surprise visit to mark the occasion and did so by presenting founder, Mayoor Patel, with an overdue but tasty celebration cake.

And not only did it get the thumbs-up from Mayoor himself and his colleague Nicholas Beeson, but also members of the Wheels team at the motor factor’s satellite parts centre in Hitchin, who got the chance to savour half of the spoils.

As Mayoor said: “The pandemic obviously took the gloss off being able to acknowledge and rejoice 30 years in business last year, so for Russ to remember twelve months on is really quite touching. Indeed it is partnering with the likes of Banner and the team that attracted me to setting up a motor factor business 30 years ago.

It was a huge and risky step at the time as it involved investing the family’s entire savings, however I wouldn’t change a thing. The last 30 years have really flown by and the automotive aftermarket is an interesting and ever-changing sector to operate in.

“Indeed much of our success has been built on our ethos of supplying only the highest quality and O/E pedigree components parts, so this is where the likes of Banner come into the picture. We have enjoyed a great understanding with them over the last eight to nine years and their batteries really are second to none. And that is not something we ourselves think, but also our customers,” he added.

Commenting on behalf of Banner, Russell Shea said: “I had planned to mark Mayoor’s 30th anniversary last year and was determined not to let it slip by unnoticed. It’s fair to say that we enjoy a fair ‘slice’ of business with them, so a celebratory cake seemed an appropriate way to mark what Mayoor and his team have achieved over a whopping 30 years.
