Part of the Derbyshire County Council’s regeneration project, Ferdinand Bilstein UK’s new purpose-built centre is 212,771 sq ft, offering a wealth of new opportunities in jobs and revenue for the local area.
It is the first to be built on the north section of the development and could create up to 400 new jobs.
Established in Germany in 1844, the Bilstein Group, with its prestigious brand Febi, SWAG and Blue Print, is an automotive component specialist which provides the aftermarket with high quality replacement parts.
The new distribution centre, for UK-based operations, will offer fantastic transport links to the main motorways.
It will help to ensure the company can continue to improve its distribution capabilities and provide better access its customers across the UK.
With all distribution moving to take place on one site, instead of split across the two sites in Kent and Pontefract, the UK operations will become further integrated.
This will create better support and customer service, as well as providing a singular base in the UK for its three brands.
Paul Dodgson, operations director at Ferdinand Bilstein UK, said: “We are excited about being part of this high profile development.
“Initial building has finished at the Markham Vale site and we look forward to seeing things progress.”
