Automotive consultancy, Fourmative is offering GW readers a free MOT site manager monthly checklist.
The checklist covers subjects including quality control checks, calibration, site meetings and training.
A Fourmative spokesperson said: “2021 will again prove to be a challenging year for any retail garage with an MOT facility.
“As lockdown measures ease more and more of our work will return, and with it DVSA compliance checks.
“Making sure you complete your site manager role will help you stay compliant.
“Perhaps 30 minutes per month is best spent focussing on the checks and documents to have a firm record as evidence of conformity.”
Fourmative uses the checklist when visiting an MOT VTS to help understand the current position and measure the station for compliance.
The spokesperson added: “This checklist is time-served for us and has its origins in the way VOSA used to measure a site when the VE visited on a regular basis.
“We teach, as best practice, that the checklist is to be used monthly by the SM and form a routine to walk the site, mark off all areas where they are compliant, and of course, make effort to correct any that fall short of the standard and would consequently put the site at risk.
“All sites understand their RAG rating, it’s the topic of much conversation as we travel the UK but making efforts to minimise risk and keep you on the GREEN, is part of our role as the AEC working alongside you.”
For the month of March, Fourmative is offering a free copy of the list, select ‘more details’ below to claim yours.
