Brad Jackson achieved second place at the Summer Nationals drag race meeting at Santa Pod last weekend, keeping the Lucas Oil-sponsored driver in contention for the National Championship title.
In glorious sunshine and on a newly laid track for 2018, the York-based driver and recently qualified full time car mechanic made qualifying look easy and dominated the eliminating rounds to reach the final.
A series of quick reaction times and a personal fastest time of 176 MPH in the final has left him a well placed fourth, less than 300 points behind the leader fellow Lucas Oil driver Nick Good.
