Philipp Grosse Kleimann to head aftermarket business unit of MAHLE Group

Philipp Grosse Kleimann is to be the new head of the aftermarket business unit and a member of the MAHLE management committee from 1 August 2023. In this function, he will report directly to the CEO, Arnd Franz.

“Philipp has many years’ of management experience in the automotive and mobility sector, a profound knowledge of the service and workshop business and an entrepreneurial mindset,” comments Arnd Franz, chairman of the MAHLE management board and CEO.

Grosse Kleimann (pictured) succeeds Henning, who has successfully headed the business unit since 2014 and left the Group at the end of April to take up new professional challenges.

Franz adds: “I am very pleased that we were able to secure the services of Philipp for the MAHLE Group. In his new position he will forge ahead with the development of new data-driven aftermarket business models and play a key role in shaping the current transformation of our Group.”

Grosse Kleimann hails from Stuttgart and has a degree in business administration. He started his career in 1996 with the Daimler Group, where he became responsible for the global spare parts and workshop business. In 2008, he was appointed director business development and a member of the board for Aston Martin Lagonda.

In 2010, Grosse Kleimann was appointed as a partner with Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, where he later became a senior partner providing advice to international customers in the global Automotive Competence Center. Before he joined the SIEMENS business unit ADVANTA, Grosse Kleimann developed and monetised innovative mobility concepts as a Management Board Member of ERGO Mobility Solutions. He was then chief commercial officer of the start-up Caroobi, a workshop platform.

Since 2020, Grosse Kleimann has been the senior vice president responsible for the automotive and new mobility business unit of Siemens Advanta Consulting, which provides consultancy services for companies in the sector on topics such as digital transformation, sustainability and electrification, as well as developing individual technical applications and software solutions.

“I am passionate about the aftermarket,” said Philipp Grosse Kleimann. “It will be my goal to actively move ahead with the transformation of MAHLE Aftermarket into a digital, sustainable organisation that is highly competitive. I am looking forward to accepting these challenges together with the MAHLE team and continuing the successful work of my predecessor, Olaf Henning.”
