Digital training provider, Our Virtual Academy has released a new hybrid and electric vehicle design concepts and safety system course.

Released this week, the new course looks at interlock circuits which are also known as pilot lines.

An Our Virtual Academy spokesperson said: “These safety-critical circuits are used to assist in the prevention of HV electrocution.

“The way these circuits work and monitor themselves can differ from vehicle to vehicle and manufacturer to manufacturer.

“In this course, to give you a broad understanding of what these circuits do and how they work, we’ll look at the approach used by three different manufacturers starting with one of the simplest, the Toyota Prius NHW20.”
