Philips RacingVision GT200, the top of the line performance bulb in the Philips automotive lighting range, with its up to +200 per cent brighter light than industry standard, has once again been awarded coveted “Recommended Buy” status by Auto Express in its annual bulb mega-test.
In awarding the Philips RacingVision GT200 this status, Auto Express reported that bulb had scored highest for both the widest usable beam of light and for producing the brightest spot of light for the road ahead.
Auto Express also acknowledged that Philips products have pioneered technological advances in the automotive lighting sector.
Indeed, there is a Philips name on almost every major innovation in automotive lighting over the last sixty years – halogen and then high-performance halogen bulbs, HID Xenon lighting, long-life halogen and LED lighting.
As the ultimate performer in Lumileds’ portfolio of Philips halogen upgrade bulbs, RacingVision GT200 delivers the super-bright visibility of a rally bulb in a format drivers can safely and legally use on public roads.
RacingVision GT200 continues to add to its impressive tally of awards, having now won “Recommended Buy” status by Auto Express magazine in its Headlamp Bulb Mega Test twice, a Commendation in Auto Express’s 2021 Product Awards, and having been judged “Best of Test” in leading French weekly motoring magazine Auto Plus’s 2021 bulb test.
The optimised bulb design of the RacingVision GT200 provides higher luminance for a better view of the road ahead and, with its ultra-performance beam reaching a full 80 meters further than the minimum length, Philips RacingVision GT200 lets you see more of the road ahead.
It also allows those behind the wheel to spot potential hazards sooner, react faster and position their car more accurately on the road.
All in all, the result is a safer and more satisfying driving experience.
In addition, Diamond Precision quartz glass ensures more light output within the regulation limits.
This guarantees a sharp cut-off line for the beam, so as not to dazzle oncoming drivers, as well as a brighter sweet spot to give more brightness where it counts.
Quartz glass also gives greater thermal shock resistance, protecting the bulb’s lifespan, while enhanced UV absorption protects the car’s headlight optic.
Richard Armstrong, business development manager for automotive UK and Ireland at Lumileds said: “Our Philips RacingVision GT200 headlight bulbs are ECE homologated and are fully road legal.
“Correctly fitted, it means that performance-oriented drivers can enjoy a bright, vibrant and street-legal bulb which will offer class leading breadth of beam and brightness on the road ahead – and crucially, without exposing oncoming motorists to excessive glare
“Auto Express’ tests are the benchmark in the UK and to have won Recommended Buy status again is further testament to RacingVision GT200’s enduring quality.”
