Schaeffler honours global Climate Action Day

In solidarity with the world community, Schaeffler, the original equipment component manufacturer and system supplier, is recognising 2022’s global Climate Action Day and its aim of reducing the negative impact of humanity on the environment.

Schaeffler has already committed to becoming a climate neutral company by 2040, and will demonstrating this commitment by engaging with every single member of staff at its 202 sites around the globe on Wednesday 22 June.

“In addition to raising awareness of Climate Action Day, with a shared interactive event designed to inspire passion, engagement and personal responsibility for climate protection among all our employees, Schaeffler AAM UK is going one step further.” explains managing director, Mark Dolloway.

“So, alongside various workshops that will provide our employees with the opportunity to develop new ideas of how to reduce CO2 emissions in all areas of the business, we are also taking proactive action and planting pear trees in the grounds of our Hereford HQ.”

“The Conference Pear trees, or more properly: pyrus communis, are being planted as a statement of Schaeffler’s ongoing commitment to the environment as much as for their positive effects, so all that see and benefit from them in the years to come will remember how seriously we take our environmental responsibilities.

“They are also a link to Herefordshire’s traditional orchard fruit heritage that will hopefully provide some edible rewards in the future.”

“Global warming is such an important topic for all of us when we stop to consider what impact we have on the environment, so we hope that on the day, Schaeffler staff will come up with lots more improvements we can make to help lower the amount of energy we use and ultimately reduce the carbon footprint we create.”

Information on Schaeffler products, fitting instructions, labour times and much more can be found on the REPXPERT workshop portal, the REPXPERT app, or by calling the Schaeffler REPXPERT hotline on 0872 737 0037.
