Nice as pie: TPS Croydon makes donation to homeless charity

TPS Croydon has donated its sales prize to a local charity dedicated to helping the homeless.

After topping an internal sales incentive by selling the most braking, suspension and lighting parts during National Pie week, the TPS Croydon centre staff won a visit from the Pie Van – a premium prize entitling all of the team to a free, unlimited, lunch.

However, rather than tuck into their well-earned pies, the big-hearted centre staff have instead opted to exchange their prize for the equivalent value in essential food items – all of which have been donated to the Sutton Night Watch homeless project.

Damien Simmons, centre manager at TPS Croydon, said: “The team did well to win the incentive and the Pie Van would have been a fantastic reward for their efforts.

“While it would have been nice to tuck into some tasty pies, everyone agreed it would be even better to help the local community, so we decided to donate the prize to the Sutton Night Watch, homeless project.

“It was a great all-round effort from the team, and I am really proud of them.”

Andy Fulker, chief executive director of Sutton Night Watch, said: “The donation that we received has been a great help to us as we have been able to give out 150-200 food parcels a week to the vulnerable people who attend the Sutton Night Watch project.”
