The Vauxhall Zafira has been highlighted as the car involved in the most road accidents with 511 vehicles being involved in crashes per 10,000 cars, new data analysis shows.
Rivervale Leasing analysed Department for Transport data and found three of the top five cars involved in the most crashes were found to be Vauxhalls.
The Vauxhall Corsa, one UK’s bestsellers, came out as one of the vehicles involved in the most accidents, with more than 33,000 total accidents.

Despite only four of the manufacturers listed having more cars on the road, Audi is the safest by rate of accidents.
With only 34,300 of them from just under 1.8 million UK Audis, the German manufacturer is the only one in our research to come in under 200 accidents per 10,000 models.
At the other end of the scale is again Vauxhall with 335 accidents per 10,000, only a fraction worse off than French manufacturer Renault.
