A banking manager who has asked not to be named, had left his stranded vehicle on the road side, supported by a jack, while he went with an AA man to replace the tyre.
Minutes later a parking warden, seen by a local resident, illegally parked her car before jumping out to issue the broken-down Land Rover with a ticket.
Lauretta Wright, 40-year-old resident, said: “I’m a writer and I work from home most of the time so I was looking out of the window and I saw the AA van drive off.
“Within a matter of minutes, the traffic wardens came along and they parked and jumped out to give him a ticket – it looked like they were waiting for him.”
Lauretta said she rushed out to let the warden know that the car was obviously on a jack but the warden simply replied “it doesn’t matter”.
Lauretta added: “As I turned around I noticed the wardens had parked illegally too, on double yellow lines, so I grabbed my camera and took some pictures.
“The AA man apparently said they are not allowed to give a car a ticket if it is broken down but I don’t know if that’s true or not.”
