Porsche disc skimming with on-vehicle lathe.

Corrosion, uneven disc surfaces, or run-out can result in brake judder and these problems frequently show up at the MOT, according to Pro Cut, specialists in providing solutions to vibration, braking and wheel balancing issues.

A light skim using a Pro-Cut on-car lathe reduces the disc thickness by just 0.4mm and returns the it to as-new condition.

In a statement, Pro-Cut said: “Corrosion and imbalance will be eliminated.

“And, especially if new pads are fitted, the brakes are perfect the minute the driver leaves the workshop.

“There is no bedding-in period, no squeaks or squeals and no disc corrosion to get in the way of braking or look ugly through an alloy hub.

“The components will also last longer, as the two perfectly flat surfaces will not overheat.

“The Pro-Cut process not only gives a perfect surface for new pads, it also restores the ex-factory geometry of the disc, meaning that there is no possibility of brake vibrations occurring.

“Even when new discs are fitted, vibrations can still occur.”
